Hypnotherapy is a well-recognised treatment for many illnesses, disorders, habits, and also as a form of relaxation. Anne has successfully used hypnotherapy with clients from as young a seven to the elderly.
What is hypnotherapy?
Therapeutic hypnosis, or clinical hypnotherapy, is a state of purposeful and confidential co-operation between the client and therapist.
Hypnosis is a very effective way to access your inner self (subconscious mind) that holds you unrecognised potential, knowledge and wisdom. Your subconscious is also the unsuspected source of our many problems.
During hypnosis you are in a state of deep relaxation and concentration, an altered state of consciousness, where therapeutic intentions and beneficial improvements are given to your subconscious mind.
The state of deep relaxation is a very pleasant experience, you will feel neither awake nor asleep. It can feel like daydreaming.
In a state of hypnosis you:
- will be in control at all times
- will be able to open your eyes at any time
- will hear all that is being said
- may remember what was said
- may feel as if you are floating
- will be asked to imagine a peaceful tranquil place to help you feel relaxed and this helps you to be able to access your own inner resources and abilities.
Anne is a professional member of the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapy (ASCH). The ASCH believes that clinical hypnotherapy is a distinct profession with clearly recognisable principles of practice and philosophies, supported by a distinct body of knowledge.
